My inspiration behind this project is the ocean and the emotion of sadness. I associate the ocean as a very strong force like sadness is. The ocean also identifies clarity and new beginnings to me. The meaning behind my project is that the person depicted is in a state of sadness and has overpowering emotions like the ocean behind it. However, the ocean in the background also symbolizes hope for new beginnings.
